Lately I’ve found myself completely obsessed with the British flag.

she BANGS

So during the spring, I longed for the bangs I had last summer. The jet back eighteen inches of hair I had swinging behind as I bounced from pool party to BBQ. As you can see, me and that weave had some good times haha. I have this theory that heavy bangs made me look chic and polished. So when July came, I spent my last bit money on a pack of sixteen inch extensions and a stylist. I loved the finished. The bangs did the perfect job of framing my face and I got tons of compliments on my sleek do. What I didn’t count on was one of the hottest summers in California history (I could be exaggerating). I was constantly sweating under my bangs which caused some major breakouts and that sweat would also tangle my tresses so I was constantly flat ironing… which mad me even more HOT. Soon as august came I found myself wanting to sport a cut ala Alek Wek as opposed to the Beyonce. So, I still love the style, just not when its 108 degrees. I learned the hard way.

GOLD member

celebrities,keri

I’ve noticed a certain trend among beauty products lately, gold. For some reason I’ve always had the desire to glow. Before you called me weird, let me explain. When you see celebrities on the red carpet in dazzling strapless couture gowns, you (or at least I am) in total awe of the bronzed blemish free complexions. So I went straight to Wal-Mart recently and picked up a body wash suggested by Kim Kardashian (Caress Evenly Gorgeous Exfoliating Body Wash) herself and the sparkly gold Olay Tone Enriching Ribbons that the commercial has teased me with fifty thousand times (give or take). Though the caress made me smell like brown sugar and even exfoliated some dead skin cells I still didn’t notice a difference in my skin tone even after using it a week. So bored with it, I moved on to the Olay. Smells great, made my skin silky soft, but still no Beyonce glow. So I wonder if I just shouldn’t expect instant results, these products don’t work on black people or they’re just lackluster (pun? Yes). What do you guys think? Should I just be happy with the results or give it another shot?

who gone check me BOO?

Long time no post. I will be the first to admit I have neglected my blogging duties. No excuse. During my absence I have gotten a new, sampled some new products and bought a ton off new clothes. All in effort to maintain my fabulousness (ok, I’m pushing it). But I’m going to let the posting begin.

shine, what shine?

Ladies prepare to put you shiny little top coats on the back burner because OPI is launching a matte line. Yes matte as in no shine, no glitter, no frosting. Just pure, flat one dimensional color! I love the idea and can't wait to get my hands on this collection. Sadly, I have to wait until the launch even more colors the the 6 (Russian Navy, Alpine Snow, La Paz-itively Hot, Lincoln Park After Dark, You Don't Know Jacques and Gargantuan Green Grape) they're starting out with since I have about 4 of then already.

I am a bit curious about the consistency of it. I one read that all the mica (glitter) in nail polish tends to make them chip faster, so would this line chip less? Yet, the official OPI website states, "Matte by OPI does not wear as long as original OPI Nail Lacquer. Do not use base coat, top coat, drying products or hand lotion when wear Matte." Ummm, so I'm supposed to be ashy for the duration of my manicure?

What do you guys think?

lux lashes

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

i am an eyelash baldy =(. i have tried a ton of mascaras .. all with minimal if any results. everything from revlon to dior show. that is until a recent trip to CHANEL changed everything. it started as a normal uneventful shopping trip until my favorite sales associate Bee (hey Bee!) noticed my smokey eye was a bit lack luster. he used the inimitable mascara in nior black. it was the first time i experienced a noticeable difference. i love it & i've worked it into my daily routine.

"Now, in a single stroke, CHANEL sets a new standard in mascara with a formula that does it all. A sophisticated formula and unique brush design combine to lengthen, plump and curl, delivering lush, long-wearing colour so precisely that each lash, even the finest, is perfectly defined and separated. at last...

Beth Ditto for Evans has come along! Hmm, that was corny. Any who, the highly anticipated line launched yesterday (July 9). I have to say that I am highly impressed. The prints, colors and cuts all left me wide-eyed and ready to put my Mastercard to work. Hopefully I get to order before everything is completely gone, especially that cool cropped biker jacket that I've had my eye on since the preview.

Here are a few of MY favorites. The entire line can be found HERE!

What do you think?

i`m READY.

Many know that I, Brittney, am I HUGE fan of Trey Songz. I'm practically a Stan *shame*. I've been a fan since he debuted in 2005 but never have I been so amazed by his music. I have my favorites of Treys' but the Anticipation mixtape is nothing short of spectacular. My remote is left to rest on my duvet when I play this album because skipping songs isn't necessary. Ballads like It Would Be You and On Top leave single women like myself longing for a relationship while steamy tracks like Scratchin Me Up leave you all the more curious about Mr. Songz 'talents'. On the other side you have revealing songs such as, Infidelity and Yo Side Of The Bed show a vulnerable side of Trey that I myself didn't expect. Had it been up to me each and every single one of these songs would have made the album cut.

The creation of ANTICIPATION began after I presented READY to my label the first time. I just started recording on my days off and the music felt great and decided that I'd rather share the music than let it sit and be idle. This is music without politics, without creative boundaries.

GOOP-there it is!

so, after a night of intense deep conditioning, i woke up with hair that was less than satisfactory. after all the moisture, the oils, the protein i ( thought i ) put into it... i still felt as if something was missing. so the following day i made a trip to the local beauty supply & bought this conditioner which was super cheap.

CANTU SHEA BUTTER LEAVE IN CONDITIONER

the title is what caught my attention. i'm one of those people who thinks anything with shea butter in it has to be good LOL. so i bought it. the next cowash i did came out superb and i think i owe it all to this product. it was cheap, genrally had good ingrediants and i also liked the consistancey (not too thick or greasy, not too watery).

my only problem with this is that it contained "lanolin", but i don't think i'll stop usage. from now on i'll do all my ingrediant checking instore & not be so damn absent minded.

the ODD couple.

I never would have thought I'd see these two dating. NEVER. The picture is very interesting to say the least. Their height difference is laughable but the stick that is her leg scares me. I'm going to rule the skintyness this one time and hope that the reason she 'appears' to be so thin is because of this pose. So guys this is the first Picture Of The Day. How do you feel about it?

pro-nails

Photobucket

its rare to see us without a manicure. summer approaching not only means sun dresses and platform sandals, but we tend to get a little more eccentric with the nail art. my blues are brighter and my greens are more neon. add some art to it and its perfection. here is a tutorial that i'm dying to try. if only i can get my hands to stop doing the harlem shake! LOL

a girl can dream... right?

Never before has a shoe had such an effect on me. Never have I wished I was capable of walking (fiercely) in heels. Until now. I can't begin to describe my reaction to Gucci Iman Triple Strap Sandal from Spring 2009. This 4 1/2 inch show stopper is yours for $1275.00. Though these shoes have been in my dreams for months, I'm not sure if I'm ready to hand Gucci my rent money just yet. This would be the perfect opportunity to pull out my 'Will Work For Shoes' top.

movers & shakers.

I want you to know me and Brittney are really ...neither. Friday nights for us mean changing nail polish, watching movies or brainstorming on new ways to expand our business; not stealing some party scene or hooking up with male models (like we dream of). On the quest for all things fabulous we decided that a blog would not only help document our journey, but engage audiences who are on a similar expedition. Our lives might seem mundane and uneventful however we will try to make sure that all the physical characteristics aren’t. Enjoy =)
